The anime songs I never get tired of

Because everybody’s doing it… here’s my list of awesome anime songs.

Bouken Desho Desho? – The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya OP

Silky Heart – ToraDora! OP

Shichitenhakki Shijou Shugi – Hayate no Gotoku! OP

I couldn’t find the OP, so here’s a nice, quirky music video.

Cagayake! Girls – K-ON! OP

Bookmark a Head – Strike Witches ED

Kuusou Rumba – Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei OP

Kawaranai Mono – Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo Insert Song

There’s obviously no OP/ED animation to go along with this, and the part where it comes in ain’t as good as this MAD.

Reflectia – true tears OP

Tsuzuku Sekai – TTGL Guren-hen ED

Close, but no cigar:

  • STRIKE WITCHES; To Do What I Can – Strike Witches OP
  • Vanilla Salt – ToraDora ED
  • Future Stream – Hatsukoi Limited OP
  • Goin ni Mai Yeah~ – Zetsubou Sensei ED
  • Motto Hade ni ne! – Kannagi OP
  • Keikenchi Joushouchuu – Minami-ke OP

There’s probably a few more that I’m forgetting, but that’s pretty much about it.  “Bouken Desho Desho?” is definitely my favorite song by a long shot.

In other news, this week and next week are overloaded with stress for me.  I worked until 2 am last night without procrastinating (though that was a result of procrastination), so I’m beat.

On another note, Asura Cryin’ 04 sucked balls.  If I have time, I’m going to blog about the six-fingered hands and enormous eyes.

i forgot about the Haruhi OP and im glad to see you finally having SOME praise for strike witches, gah. cant wait till S2 this fall….so excited. anyways, asura cryin was cute and i liked it. i like how they are able to tie in mecha with cute/ecchi/contract+romance/harem and it still be good. i dont care about the art, honestly i didnt even notice 6 fingers once. i demand screencaps. but tatsuki is hot, nuff said.

  2. Hare Hare Yukai where?

  3. A couple of them I like the sound of, but to be honest I haven’t heard of more than half of those before now…
Silky heart has a wicked hand gesture-y MV though. xD

  4. Taka says:

I’ll forgive you for most of the songs on this list since you are new to anime.

Soon you will learn of life beyond Haruhi. Though I’ll admit it took me FOREVER to delete the series from my Library almost as long as TTGL.

There’s nothing to forgive on this list. It’s great. I have been obsessed with Bouken Desho Desho. I downloaded it, I’ve been singing it. It’s great. That being said, some other great awesome OP’s that were here include:

    Kuusou Rumba
    Cagayake! Girls

I’m actually making a list of my top forty something OPs and they’re both on there…or they will be anyway…

    OPs rule.

The animation in Asura Crayin’ 4 SUCKED. If I can notice that the animation is bad, then you know it sucked because I usually miss that sort of thing. I still thought it was a great episode.

  6. glothelegend says:

I know I only listed two other great songs, thats because I didn’t listen to the others because i haven’t seen the anime……fuck it I’ll listen to them anyway.

  7. kadian1364 says:

Some nice ones from the last couple of years, at least. Extra points for where the music and animation work together to make me feel nostalgic about that particular anime, like remembering all the good parts and forgetting the suck.

  8. Actually, the bigger question is Tori no Uta where? All joking aside though, it’s not a bad list in the least.

  9. Roy Mustang says:

Why isn’t Index ED2 on this list?!

Ah…Index gets the most screentime…as it should be.

  10. fangzhao says:

@jerseyse410: Hey, I thought Strike Witches was an awesome anime!

@Kairu: What the fuck is that?

@Ayano: Not otaku enough! Though if you were to put up a top anime music list, I probably would say the same…

@Taka: I actually watched Haruhi a year before my immersion into the world of anime (so I watched it in 2007), so I don’t think I have an excuse for being a fagboy.

    fanboy*

@glothelegend: Yes, OPs do rule! I’m a much bigger fan of Cagayake! Girls than Don’t say Lazy, come to think of it… And yeah, Asura Cryin’ 04 was an artistic and animation bombshell that could’ve been an otherwise good episode.

Oh, and Kuusou Rumba is my favorite OP (as in music + animation) of all time. The insane animation(s), that drum part at the beginning, the awesome, etc.

@kadian1364: Haha, yeah. Whenever I see the animations, I feel that the anime were more epic than they really were.

@zzeroparticle: Bah, Tori no Uta has some uber-repetitive stuff in it (but so do most of these other songs…)! I have it on my phone though.

@Roy: I actually never listen to EDs until I randomly find them on Gendou…. and I guess I forgot to go get this one. There are exceptions to this (Zessei Bijin, Hare Har-). Also, not enough Mikoto.

  11. Aidid says:

Lol, I’m going to watch Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei solely off of the epicness of the OP now :P.

I agree with most of the songs. However I’d have probably added the Second OP from Index.

  12. Zaotsu says:

Really? The second OP of Toradora! and not the first one? 😐

And holy shit SHAFT really went insane on the Goku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei OP. That’s weird even by their standards. I still need to finish it up / start it anyways.

    • Zaotsu says:

Oh, and what about Odoru Akachan Ningen?

      [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIpCqj7gjx4&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0]

    • fangzhao says:

Bah. That first OP had some insane animation, but I didn’t like the song half as much as that of the second OP. And yeah, SHAFT really went insane on Goku SZS’s OPs. For an anime with only three episodes, there’s three different, though equally crazy, OP animations and two different OP songs!

Also, I’ve yet to watch Welcome to the NHK…
It’s been sitting in my computer gathering virtual dust for a while now. >:(

  13. […] job subbing groups did on that…!).  I love this song so much that it was registered on my list of awesome only a week after I heard […]
