The Maybe-Finale of Haruhi SuzumiyaPosted: September 14, 2009 Filed under: Uncategorized 12 Comments »
In two words, this episode was:
Quite possibly the best opening line to an anime episode ever
+ Epic Yuki scene
+ Talking Philosopher Cat
+ Not-shounen-ai Koizumi scene
+ Opportunity strikes, but Kyon is too cool for Haruhi
+ Facepalm ending shot
= Epic episode.
It’s been a while since I last saw an episode that could blend comedy, drama, massive amounts of information and plot, and talking cats without crashing and failing horribly somewhere along the line. The ending felt natural – not forced at all, despite how much potential that the dialogues with Mikuru, Yuki, and Koizumi released. Though I do feel like I’m hanging on a bit of a cliff here.
If Disappearance airs this year, praise the gods of the crystal crescent!
If it comes in 2012,
Haruhi already has shounen-ai genre in it even in season 1. We just doesn’t know it.
You got right to the point about how awesome this episode was. Great job! XD I too agree that we need to see “Disappearance” soon!
Doesn’t pay for the shit S2 Was, disregard that I was here.
So Haruhi returns to the mountains, not to be seen again for another three years…
Still, i liked the episode. The season as a whole… not so much. Considering they [endless eight], it felt really short.
[…] Comprehensive summary of the Sigh arc’s epicness […]
No epic Asahina-san pic?
Finally, talking Shamisen appears.
Didn’t want to spam on this H-S soooo..
I’ll orgasm if Disappearance comes out this year, and if I gotta wait 3 god damn years it better be good.
Yup, this kicked ass. Worst of all, it left me wanting more Haruhi, which won’t happen because the season is over.
Endless Eight ruined my overall view of this season even though the last couple episodes were the bomb.
tl;dr E8 sucked but this episode was so damn awesome that I would turn Koizumi for more Haruhi.
IMO, Endless Eight certainly was terrible, but all this new stuff is incredible. Though, considering that “all” only refers to the five episodes of the Sigh arc…
