I am physically exhausted from celebrating this information. Okay I made that up, but regardless, I’m extremely excited.
“Restarting the series”…. Hmmm
hohohohoho…….do i see loli? i smell loli?
my second favorite rie tsunde-loli returns for a 3rd season hallelujah! blutsauber and silver fire. ftw.
Don’t want, why is it that people like this show so much? I mean, fffffffffffffffff.

bob i dont understand your anime habits one bit
Rie, generic tsundere loli, male lead as predictable as the romance storyline, main storyline is poor.

Holy mother fu-
My blog has some spam going on!
Shana is indeed a pretty average anime, but everybody watches it for the loli anyways. That said, Shana is the tsundere loli, so it’s not fair to compare her to characters like Taiga, Nagi, and Louise, who all came after her (though it’s unavoidable).
Nagi is not included since she is not really intended to be a tsundere character.
Are you talking about Nagi from Hayate, or Nagi from Kannagi?
Rie Kugimiya is usually associated with Shana, Louise, Nagi, and Taiga, giving her the nickname “Queen of Tsundere.”
Though I can see where you’re coming from if you are talking about Nagi of Hayate. She may be the parodied “tsundere,” but she’s still a tsundere nonetheless, right?
Agreed she was “the” character, but they decided to clone her and try to remake her “success” Which actually works, I mean people like it, companies have more of a reason to make moar (you forgot Yuuhi btw) anyways, As much as she can be The tsundere, she’s now a tsundere. But I didn’t even like the show that much on my first watch; one of the things I hate the most is being able to predict what happens next, which happened for most of the first 5 episodes and the rest of the show for the relationship storyline.
I doubt stupid taco retard loser girl counts as one of Rie Kugimiya’s big roles (technically, it really isn’t – she’s not the main character, so yeah. She’s also not a tsundere…).
I watched Shakugan no Shana early on in my anime life (around the time when I had ~20 shows down), and it became my favorite for quite some time just because of Shana (who was also my favorite female character for a long, long time). And I think that this mentality stuck with a lot of people. Even now, the word “tsundere” is automatically associated with Shana above any other character (arguably Kagami).
Also, the predictability was the show’s fatal flaw. It was the shitty plotline that prevented a good show powered by some of the best characters at the time from becoming a great show.
Agreed if it was some of your first shows, I can understand, I mean I love Kanon (06) and all, raged at the ending, but love it since it’s one of my first animes, but still Shana makes me think of a troll.
Shakugan no Shana = Troll!?
Yes, it’s lame.
I thought that Shana was a sweet, straightforward action/romance with an awesome female lead. It’s nothing special, and even when I watched it, it wasn’t really anything special, but it was done quite well (well, everything except the plot @_@).
Kanon 2006 was epic, by the way.
P.S.: 900th comment!
It was very special. Up until the pool episode/episode where the main character should have disappeared.
We could have gotten a “what is existence?” anime instead of the silly love triangle. Makes me sad that a series that started out so strong ended up being so bad. Kind of like Maria-Holic.
Kind of like your new banner. What the hell is this sh*t?
Is it weird that I don’t really see Kagami as tsundere?
It’s more the fact that Konata keeps saying that Kagami is a tsundere.
Personally, I think she is a tsundere. Just… a TSUNdere. She sometimes (rarely) displays some deredere, so I guess it’s kind of fair to put her into the tsundere category…?
lol
Anyone who hasn’t heard of the word “tsundere” would be baffled by what you just said.
But I think that the reason why I don’t see it is because there’s no real love interest, unlike with Shana from SnS or Louise from ZnT.
That’s a pretty good point there!
I think that Konata’s visions of Kagamin being deredere somewhat make up for the lack of a love interest (there’s a bunch of scenes where Konata imagines that Kagamin has a lover and does typical deredere things)… though you’re right, it’s hard to classify her as a true tsundere without somebody like Yuji around.
As long as they don’t pad half the season with wasted filler again, sounds good to me.
Definitely. Those filler episodes in S2 were amusing to a point, but they were ultimately… well, annoying. Get to some real plot already!
Meh… Every side character is better than both Shana and Yuugi… Especially Yuugi… Somehow he’s becoming worse and worse with each season. I mean, in S2 he was pretty much trying to look awesome and failing. Not to mention not giving my precious Yoshida enough love >_< Oh and I don't mind filler eps if there are swimsuits, bikinis, onsen, school festivals etc etc etc 😛
Anyway, the best news I have is Haruka's S2 starting this fall ^^ Now THAT'S nice.
Yuji* isn’t a very good character, but I’d have to disagree with you on Shana. She is second only to Mikoto.
P.S.: I haven’t ever watched Haruka. :p
Yes, him, see? Ι even mixed up his name 😛 Just goes to show you how much I don’t care about him 😛
Ive had enough of Shana, JC Staff.
[…] some semi-related news: So many Shakugan no Shana posts which tells about a sequel of the anime? Wat? Shakugan no Shana III? No fucking way. […]
I enjoy Zero no Tsukaima a lot more than Shakugan no Shana, at least ZnT puts some really hot scenes and some really awesome scenes(novel, the anime after season 2 sucked)
@Kairu: no u. Though honestly, I want more Shanatan than more Shana.
@NaturalForce: Eh, I haven’t seen it.
I dont have any high expectations now ^^;
@andra, NO U
