Kurokami 13: Redeemed?

Jumping on the KyoAni bandwagon, are we?
FAIL-O-METER
Kurokami has not been redeemed (I’ve been hearing many “awesomes” and “epics” to describe 13, but… no. Just no.). I originally had this series at a 2/10 on MAL, and now it’s at a 4. That’s not that much better, but it’s a start. There’s definitely some fail in this episode, but there is less than in previous episodes (12 was a total failure). Still, the fail here’s as big as a mansion, and that’s nowhere near “redeemed” status.
Y-Ya-YAKUMO?!?!/1
Holy son of a female dogging female dog. DOOD, that is beyond bad art quality.
I’m pretty sure that I don’t even have to tell you why that’s bad.
Click the pictures to see the failure in all its glory.
Wow, what a cool line this guy’s got! Totally different from episode 12’s shit scri-
NO SHIT, SHERLOCK.
I see that somebody was dropped on his head one too many times as a baby. This is either one incredibly crappy script, or it’s some incredibly crapping translating (though for the life of me, I can’t see what this could be the wrong translation of!).
Frankenstein and ordinary-looking guy have arrived!
I’m pretty sure that this is one of the worst animation sequences in Kurokami‘s long history of failure. Basically, it’s Yakumo bobbing his head from side to side in time with his hands slapping the barrier.
Oh, and LOLBLURRYLINES again!
Random tidbit about action anime: Hair standing up in DBZ fashion always shows lots of power. (-_-メ
That sounds awfully important!
Because that’s what all people say when they wake up from a 6-month coma.
This new guy looks pretty familiar…
Yep. Mugibrows and Diethardhoge combine to form Steiner replacement.
Other sources of failure include…
- White/Black Good/Evil division: Kuraki is immediately seen as the bad guy when his role should be seen as ambiguous.
- Thousands get destroyed way too easily.
- Keita somehow miraculously wakes up at the right moment.
- The battle is stupid. First, the bad guys are winning. Then, the good guys win. That’s it. But at least there’s a battle.
(Positive) Highlights of 13
Kuro doesn’t get the crap beat out of her in every battle.
Kuro gets some better clothes – now she can be considered “appealing” for once!
There’s actual fighting.

[…] “Die now, or die having your Tera sucked out.” “You’ll be dying either way.” […]
Kurokami has, in my opinion, the BEST ANIMATION EVER PRODUCED. Even better than anime like Chaos;HEAD and Asura Cryin’ (if you can believe that).
Hell it’s even better than Akikan!
No way. Nothing is THAT good.
