The love polygon
Posted: May 12, 2009 Filed under: Uncategorized 9 Comments »Excuse the shitty quality.
Hatsukoi Limited has one of the biggest love polygons I’ve ever seen.
In the spirit of awesome love polygons, I’m going to take a look back at other love polygons (from the ~twelve and a half anime that I’ve seen, so don’t blame me if I haven’t seen some anime with awesome love polygons). By the way, a love polygon = love triangle + more sides.
Disclaimers
You know me. You really think that I’m going to do anything more than bash on anime and/or spout random things about anime? HAH.
Also, this post will be an incredibly shitty one showing an excessive lack of effort on my part because my previous post seemed to be well-received (aka: my status as a very witty and funny blogger is going to hold out for a couple of days, so I’ve got the leeway to throw a few trashy posts at my readers until they think otherwise, and then hopefully troll more people later on).
This post will only be funny if you’ve watched the anime that I’ve spent SO much time making beautifully done pictures of. And even then, I doubt it will be funny.
By the way, what exactly is a “love triangle?”
It’s two girls loving the same guy or two guys loving the same girl, right?
Shouldn’t it be more of a love dual-line-segments/angle?
It’s not like the two girls or the two guys fall in love…
I propose a change to this “love triangle” term. It should either be addressed as “2/3 love, 1/3 hatred/friendship triangle” or “love dual line segments.” Clarity over sanity, I always say!
Blogging via wasting time making paint .png files is more boring than Training with Failako. Screw it, I’m gonna go read 20th Century Boys.
Ugh. This wanna make me drop watching Hatsukoi Limited.
I think the anime makes it a lot easier on our minds by doing the episodic format – following a character or two per episode.
If it was a huge free-for-all mashed up plot, I don’t think I could get past episode 1!
The Genshiken one is awesome.
So according to Asu no Yoichi like with earrings the right one is the gay one XD.
i tastefully ignored the school days segment but i really am loving hatsukoi. it truly is my new kimikiss and i love it for that. i get chills everytime ayumi’s VA asks “have you ever been in love” and i loved the most recent oppai episode. waiting for DVD rips thank you. but really, im excited to see how the love polygon will work out. i have my own hopes but i was crushed to see arihara get the girl and my favorite, the one voiced by saito’s VA, get stuck with his sister so far. really good anime, glad m33w is subbing, dont forget to pick up the v2 of episode 5. and no, there is no love polygon in zetsobu sensei. the cake is a lie.
Guh… people keep comparing Hatsukoi to kimikiss, but the pictures that I’ve seen of the first episode really didn’t curry any favors. Maybe I just need to get over it and take the plunge already.
Once you see the “JOURNEY THAT MEN MUST UNDERTAKE” near the end of Hatsukoi, the difference will be clear… and you’ll probably rage some more.
@dood: …shit, it really does look like I’m pointing at the boobs. Whoops. :p
@jersey, zzeroparticle, ffviiknight: I’ve also heard many people compare Kimikiss and Hatsukoi (though most say that Hatsukoi is Kimikiss perfected).
…I haven’t watched kimikiss. I’d better start before I fall behind the pack (or at least the debate).
School Rumble had a pretty complex set of relationships as well.
You should watch it…but the ending might disappoint. I flew through the series though.
