It’s the Red Hair, Honest!

After hearing Rie Tanaka’s signature voice from Maria (Hayate), Yomi (Azumanga Daioh), and Sammy (Eve no Jikan), among others, I still found nothing too interesting about the three characters (as in, to fuss like a fangirlboy over).

Then when I heard Minna’s voice in Strike Witches, lo and behold, I swooned and fell to my knees in a touching moment of intensely manly fanboying.

Seeing as how the voices of Maria and Minna are practically identical, the only explanation for this would be the lack of maid attire the loli pantsu Minna’s red hair.

And so begins the journey of one man’s quest to discover all of the red-haired anime beauties out there.

This post is a look at ten (incuding Minna) other red-haired anime girls, and my impressions of them…

2. Kallen [Code Geass]

Kallen’s red hair is a symbol of… what?
I don’t really care, but she is really awesome.  Kallen >>> C.C. for sure.

Red hair symbolizes battle skills!

3. Yoko [Gurren Lagann]

Yoko’s red hair is very long, compensating for her attire, or lack thereof.

Red hair symbolizes fanservice!

4. Tsugumi [Kannagi]

Though Tsugumi ain’t my top pick in Kannagi girls, she is nonetheless very moe and deserving to be in what I believe to be the greatest anime of all time.

Red hair symbolizes childhood friend character!

5. Lucy [Elfen Lied]

Lucy is quite the scary red-haired girl.

Perhaps all the people she’s killed have dyed her hair red with their blood?

Red hair symbolizes killing intent!

6. Aka [REC]

Aka is the most cheerful redhead I’ve seen in anime.

Red hair symbolizes optimism!

7. Kuro [Kurokami]

This girl’s dark red hair reflects the dark nature of her soul… or not.

Well, I can’t say I dislike Kuro, but I sure as hell hate Keita and Kurokami in general.

Red hair symbolizes wannabe Shana!

8. Aiko [True Tears]

Ai-chan is definitely my favorite and the least represented girl in True Tears.

Red hair symbolizes lack of screentime!

9. Minorin [ToraDora!]

I’d say she’s the weirdest of the bunch.

At first glance, she’s as bubbly as Aka, and then you get yandere-Rena moments.

Still, she, like Aiko, was my pick for the male lead.  Too bad she supports Shorty.

Red hair symbolizes eccentricity!

10. Shana [Shakugan no Shana]

When I think “red hair” and “anime,” I automatically think of Shana.
This sword-wielding loli’s flaming red hair is essentially her trademark symbol.

Had Mikoto not come along and turned anime into awesome, I would most likely be a Shanaist.
Shana was the first anime girl I found myself a fan of, and she remains second only to Mikoto.

Her red hair symbolizes, among other things, flame.
Flame as in… love, power, and tsundere.

I’m willing to bet that Shana is the red-haired anime girl.

Red hair symbolizes epic win!

In conclusion, red hair is awesome.

Ah, I’ll take a quick peek at your post right now.
I’ve noticed that the anime you prefer are quite different from those that I watch, so I probably won’t recognize many characters… 😡
