is usually used to refer to an anime character whose only purpose in the show is to provide excessive moe appeal to the audience (thus, a walking blob of moe).<br \/>\nWell, here, Yui ain&#8217;t no Tsukasa. \u00a0She is the <span style=\"text-decoration:line-through;\">only<\/span> main character of this show, and is awesome beyond belief.<\/p>\n<p>This post will examine aspects of her moeness and draw up comparisons to show the extent of her moe appeal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-886 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090403172220.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first thing I noticed (or rather, was thrust into my face) was Yui&#8217;s clumsiness.<\/p>\n<p>Via wikipedia:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>An essential quality of\u00a0<em>moe<\/em>\u00a0is that the [viewer] feels protective towards the character&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The clumsy girl stereotype in anime obviously plays off of this (Oh no, she fell down! \u00a0I must protect her! \u00a0&#8230;of course, this is done subconsiously, or you&#8217;re one weird person), and the beginning scenes with Yui&#8217;s watch and Yui falling down (as well as that later scene with Yui dropping the papers) are probably the most blatant portrayal of the &#8220;clumsy girl&#8221; character possible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-885 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090403172232.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And moar stereotypes portray Yui as the ultimate in clumsy moe anime girls!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-884        aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090403172315.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And then we shift our attention to her hair.<\/p>\n<p>Hmmn. \u00a0I&#8217;d say&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-894\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090311165231.jpg?resize=500%2C340\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"340\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The hair accessory of Kafuka&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-892\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090403174047.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><br \/>\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-893\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090313020159.jpg?resize=500%2C283\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"283\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And the hair of Minorin (not to mention the pose).<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t mind Kafuka and Minorin. \u00a0Yes, it&#8217;s actually<em> like that<\/em>, and I&#8217;m not a <em>liar<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/hair-accessories.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-895\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/hair-accessories.png?resize=500%2C350\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"350\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The hair accessory is a powerful thing indeed. \u00a0It is nearly essential as an aspect of awesome moeness, and gives off childish vibes that make you just want to hug Yui and <em><strong>protect<\/strong><\/em> her. \u00a0*cough* essential quality of moe *cough*<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-897\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090403174649.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yui&#8217;s small, cute, and <span style=\"text-decoration:line-through;\">badly drawn<\/span>\u00a0(screw you, inner critic!) hands make her seem smaller and more childlike.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s like&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8220;She can&#8217;t really grab much with those small hands, so I have to help her&#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;What if she grabs a knife and can&#8217;t hold on to it and drops it because I&#8217;m not there to <em><strong>protect<\/strong><\/em> her by helping her carry it?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/facial-expressions.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-898\" title=\"Yay, another collage!\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/facial-expressions.jpg?resize=500%2C500\" alt=\"facial-expressions\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Facial expressions are the most important part of a moeblob (though not always of ubermoe characters in general).<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-899\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/lucky-star-21-large-28.jpg?resize=500%2C281\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p>No joke, Tsukasa definitely = Yui when it comes to facial expressions.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_896\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-896\" class=\"size-full wp-image-896\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090403174702.jpg?resize=450%2C338\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-896\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">&quot;I wish we were as moe as Yui...&quot;
