{"id":363,"date":"2009-03-22T21:51:25","date_gmt":"2009-03-23T04:51:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mikoto.wordpress.com\/?p=363"},"modified":"2009-03-22T21:51:25","modified_gmt":"2009-03-23T04:51:25","slug":"zombies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flomu.net\/blog\/2009\/03\/zombies\/","title":{"rendered":"Zombies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I can&#8217;t stand it anymoar!<\/p>\n<p>First <a href=\"http:\/\/mikoto.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/19\/akikan-09\/\">this<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-268\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/snapshot20090319020542.jpg?resize=500%2C281\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then <a href=\"http:\/\/mikoto.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/22\/to-aru-majutsu-no-index-24\/\">this<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-351\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/snapshot20090322000310.jpg?resize=500%2C281\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And now, this&#8230;.!?<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-364\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/snapshot20090322212218.jpg?resize=500%2C284\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"284\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Is this some sort of contagious disease?<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>MUST all anime contain some sort of zombified character-scene, or is there an anime out there that doesn&#8217;t have a single scene that shouts &#8220;I&#8217;m too lazy to draw in this character&#8217;s face, and the deadline&#8217;s coming up, so here&#8217;s some shaded junk?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Oh poo.<\/p>\n<p>Well, this post is here to examine the effectiveness of the zombie disease, aka the &#8220;hair and lighting make extreme shadows on face&#8221; effect.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_366\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-366\" class=\"size-full wp-image-366\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/snapshot20090310011755.jpg?resize=450%2C338\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-366\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hey look, you can see the eyes!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>So this technique is used to express a variety of things&#8230;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Emotional speech time<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Emotional&#8221; speech time<\/li>\n<li>Seriousness<\/li>\n<li>Stupidity<\/li>\n<li>Etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The first two instances are essentially the same, only sometimes, it&#8217;s just boring, stereotypical, \u00a0and &#8220;not-so-emotional&#8221; (take Index 24 or Akikan! 09 for example!).<\/p>\n<p>Zombie faces are a good indicator that the anime just turned serious, seeing as how people normally put their faces down to think\/cry\/hold in anger (really, it&#8217;s not just an anime thing!).<\/p>\n<p>Zombie faces are also a good indicator of stupidity.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-367\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/snapshot20090317023136.jpg?resize=500%2C281\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><br \/>\nAs you can see, Kuro and Keita&#8217;s stupidity results in zombie faces galore!<\/p>\n<p>Wait, hold on&#8230; they <strong>don&#8217;t even have faces here<\/strong> in the first place!<\/p>\n<p>This must be&#8230; ZOMBIE FACE V.2!!<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, there are several other instances of this event occurring, yet&#8230;<br \/>\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-368\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/snapshot20090304012310.jpg?resize=500%2C281\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><br \/>\nTHE FULL-ZOMBIE SYNDROME!<\/p>\n<p>This occurs when two Zombie Face V.2 characters combine to form one of the background extras that don&#8217;t matter&#8230; and in this character&#8217;s uselessness, full blown zombification occurs!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And going back to the original Zombie face premise, blacked-out faces are good for&#8230; well, not much.<\/p>\n<p>They don&#8217;t really do much except say &#8220;this is an important scene&#8221; or &#8220;you should take this scene seriously&#8221; or &#8220;screw this show, taste my Sharpie!&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I can&#8217;t stand it anymoar!
