Try and find Danny Choo in his stormtrooper outfit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Obligatory thing to do is obligatory.<\/p>\n<p>Since I am a blogger, and since I blog about an aspect of Japanese media, it is only natural that I would want to visit the most famous (well, IMO) Japanese blogger in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Just some facts about my and Danny Choo&#8217;s relationship:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>I have visited his site less than fifty times<\/li>\n<li>I have read something on his site besides registration information twice<\/li>\n<li>I am only putting this on here because I ran out of things to do in Tokyo<\/li>\n<li>I have a feed of his posts on this blog only because blog aggregator otaku.fm requires it<\/li>\n<li>Otaku.fm has never helped me get more than two and a fifth views a day<\/li>\n<li>I don&#8217;t like Star Wars that much<\/li>\n<li>I think DC is one of the most horribly designed blogs\/websites in the history of badly designed blogs\/websites<\/li>\n<li>I get lost at DC<\/li>\n<li>I find DC very boring<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/06\/charles-wakamoto.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2870\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/06\/charles-wakamoto.png?resize=500%2C200\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Travel with a white guy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Because I&#8217;m Chinese and I speak English, I am not your average gaijin in Japan. \u00a0Rather, I am &#8220;that Chinese bastard who tries to appear superior by speaking the language of the awesome country of America!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Thus to establish my place as an American and not of the &#8220;Chinese scum&#8221; (and thus be on the receiving end of the hypothetical racism sword), I would travel with a white friend. \u00a0Thus people would have to accept me as the epic man that I am, not some person who supports a nation that could hit Japan with a missile. \u00a0Though <a href=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/06\/37150__468x_japanese-missile-defence-most-deadly.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Japan always has Doraemon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now to acquire a white otaku friend&#8230;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2886\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/06\/snapshot20090301003115.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2886\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2886\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/06\/snapshot20090301003115.jpg?resize=450%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2886\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Those savages!<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>3. Visit Akihabara<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a given. \u00a0As an otaku (or rather, &#8220;a fan of Japanese animation&#8221;), I zenzen have to declare my buring desire to visit a district filled with people that I cannot talk to, things that I cannot understand even if I decide to purchase them, and passersby who would rather gawk at my white buddy before talking to be, the Chinese dude.<\/p>\n<p>My utmost desire would be to visit this dense area filled with shops and try to fit in with my &#8220;fellow&#8221; otaku while being obviously non-Japanese. \u00a0Oh boy, do I love anime! \u00a0Japan is awesome.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/06\/twewy-shibuya.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2887\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/06\/twewy-shibuya.png?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Visit Shibuya<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is also a given.<\/p>\n<p>I played and beat <em>The World Ends With You<\/em> in two days. \u00a0Because I managed to play through such a long game in only two days, my brain was fried, my eyes were boiled, my hands were roasted, and the images of Shibuya were grilled into my memory. \u00a0Hell, I bet I could fit in if I went to Shibuya <span style=\"text-decoration:line-through;\">if I weren&#8217;t so obviously American<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>But really, I&#8217;d want to see the 109 building, that dog statue, and the bridge. \u00a0And I&#8217;d also like to break through that wall and get into a random mansion, beat up some Noise, and suddenly get into the real world.<\/p>\n<p>I had a TWEWY player pin on my backpack, and it got all rusty on the inside of the plastic film, making it look zetta cool. \u00a0Then it fell off and now I&#8217;m sad.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/06\/1244003639259.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2888\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/06\/1244003639259.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Eat Melon Bread<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I want to try some of this shit so bad, it&#8217;s not even funny. \u00a0I found one at a nearby Asian bakery a year or so ago, but it had some weird filling inside (red bean paste?), and it didn&#8217;t really taste that good.<\/p>\n<p>A lot of the Asian bakeries around where I live stuff their bread with a bunch of random stuff like sausages, green onions, red bean paste, cream, etc. \u00a0Some have taro bread. \u00a0I hate that stuff. \u00a0Taro is nasty.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d also like to try some chocolate cornets, but I guess I could get some in America. \u00a0Maybe a well-made bento instead of the stuff I found at a nearby convenience\u00a0store? \u00a0Or just some Pocky would be fine. \u00a0Hell, I don&#8217;t think it really matters. \u00a0I bet that if I brought some of the Pocky I have at home to Japan and ate it, it would taste like heaven.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s put some more lines here to make this seem like a longer post.<\/p>\n<p>I think hitting enter a few<\/p>\n<p>more<\/p>\n<p>times will make it look like I wrote a lot too.<\/p>\n<p>FILLERFILLERFILLER<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">Disclaimer<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nThis was not a filler post.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Also, I do not harbor any hatred for Japanese people. \u00a0Though it&#8217;d be pretty damn annoying to live in Japan as a Chinese guy, to say the least.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">My satire and faggotry know no bounds.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This post was originally supposed to be &#8220;Five things I&#8217;d do in Japan,&#8221; but since all of them can be put into Tokyo, and since that sounds like I might live in Japan, except outside of Tokyo, here&#8217;s your new title.
