I&#8217;m talking about the actual <em>opening<\/em>, not just the song. \u00a0The same goes for &#8220;ED.&#8221; \u00a0I take the animation and the music into account when I judge this season&#8217;s EDs.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"590\" height=\"332\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GUKwH81csts?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>#5: &#8220;Don&#8217;t Say &#8216;Lazy'&#8221;\u00a0(<\/strong><em><strong>K-ON!<\/strong><\/em><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>HAH. \u00a0You&#8217;re probably thinking, &#8220;Jesus, this dude&#8217;s a retard. \u00a0If this song is #5 on the list, I don&#8217;t even want to know what kind of epic failure is at the top of this shitty list.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Well, you&#8217;re probably right, but the visuals of this ED are horrible. \u00a0Probably one of the worst EDs in terms of animation I&#8217;ve ever seen. \u00a0Even Akikan!&#8217;s ED was better than this (in terms of animation).<\/p>\n<p>The song is pretty good, though. \u00a0But the OP is light-years better.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2819\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/uk.video.yahoo.com\/watch\/4805798\/12824275\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2819\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2819\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/06\/snapshot20090421233338.jpg?resize=450%2C253\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"253\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2819\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Click here for video (unembedable)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>#4: &#8220;Uso&#8221; (<em>Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood<\/em>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This ED is certainly incredible. \u00a0The song is almost in direct contrast to that of the OP: a more mellow song with much slower lyrics and longer notes, yet it&#8217;s as good as, if not much better than, the OP. \u00a0I have a penchant for incredibly catchy songs, and this strikes me as incredibly catchy. \u00a0I often find myself humming it at random times during the day, even though I&#8217;ve only watched the full ED once or twice (and I&#8217;ve never heard the full song).<\/p>\n<p>The visuals are equally amazing. \u00a0What one could call childish is actually pretty unique. \u00a0Come to think of it, this season has seen several uniquely animated EDs: FMA:B, Eden of the East, HnG!!, Natsu no Arashi!, etc. \u00a0(Though Basquash and Shangri-La don&#8217;t really offer much in this aspect).<\/p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"590\" height=\"332\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ti7uvoK8RVk?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<p><strong>#3: &#8220;Tomare&#8221; (<em>Haruhi 2009<\/em>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No matter what, I&#8217;m a Haruhiist. \u00a0And this probably proves it.<\/p>\n<p>This ED is a total trainwreck compared to the insanity that was Hare Hare Yukai, but there is no denying the fact that HOLY SHIT HARUHI SEASON TWO EXISTS!!!1oneone111\/<\/p>\n<p>But really, this is a catchy song. \u00a0Very catchy. \u00a0I hate how the beginning sounds like the <em>Genshiken<\/em> OP (My Pace Daiou), though.<\/p>\n<p>The animation, however seizure-inducing it may be, is better than that of most EDs. \u00a0I love how the walls\/chalkboard\/whatever with a SOS Dan member on it flash on the off-beats. \u00a0I also love how the thing starts with an enormous H. \u00a0I also love how there&#8217;s that sequence at the end where a bunch of pictures of the SOS Brigade doing random things flashes by really fast.<\/p>\n<p>tl;dr <strong>HARUHI<\/strong><\/p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"590\" height=\"332\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/28XXAjHSu2o?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<p><strong>#2: &#8220;futuristic imagination&#8221; (<\/strong><em><strong>Eden of the East<\/strong><\/em><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Undoubtedly the best ED animation I&#8217;ve ever seen. \u00a0Wtfstop-motion animation in an ED? \u00a0Awsum. \u00a0I really like the explosions where paper comes rushing out.<\/p>\n<p>The song is pretty good, but I wouldn&#8217;t listen to it by itself. \u00a0The animation boosts up the song, not the other way around. \u00a0D:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2821\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymotion.com\/video\/x8w3zu_hayate-no-gotoku-2nd-season-ed_shortfilms\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2821\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2821\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/06\/snapshot20090417213855.jpg?resize=450%2C249\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"249\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2821\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Unfortunately, this is also unembedable.  Picture = link.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>#1: &#8220;Honjitsu, Mankai Watashi Iro!&#8221; (<\/strong><em><strong>Hayate no Gotoku!!<\/strong><\/em><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Was this really not blatantly obvious? \u00a0What else could beat the stop-motion epicness of Eden&#8217;s ED than the impossibly epic Hayate no Gotoku!! ED? There&#8217;s Hinagiku, who is undoubtably awesome, a catchy song, and an awesome animation. \u00a0What more could you want?<\/p>\n<p>Though the visual aspect is limited in amount of animation, there&#8217;s no doubt in my mind that the animation is awesome and fitting for the song. \u00a0It&#8217;s like having a flipbook of Hinagiku&#8217;s tsundere moments.<\/p>\n<p>Now if only To Aru Kagaku no Railgun would top this with a catchy song to a seizure-inducing series of biribiri pictures&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this runner-up list post to my top five OPs of Spring 2009 post, I will list out the awesome-est EDs this season. \u00a0Oh, and Basquash!&#8216;s OP is still awesome.
