right behind Mikoto on the awesome scale.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ahoge\" target=\"_blank\">ahoge<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Every anime, with little (perhaps no) exceptions, has a character with an ahoge.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s everywhere.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h1>Chiaki&#8217;s ahoge<\/h1>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1037\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/chiaki-1.jpg?resize=500%2C281\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the most famous ahoge is the one perched atop Chiaki&#8217;s head in the <em>Minami-ke<\/em> franchise.<\/p>\n<p>Her ahoge is also probably one of the weirdest shaped ones.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h1><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1039\" href=\"http:\/\/mikoto.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/06\/saki-01-why-saki-is-a-parody\/\" target=\"_blank\">previous post<\/a> about <em>Saki <\/em>01.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h1>Hisa&#8217;s ahoge<\/h1>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1020\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090406111944.jpg?resize=500%2C281\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Well, it&#8217;s&#8230; springy.<\/p>\n<p>As in, like a spring.<br \/>\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-1043\" haired girl (just noticed).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Another moving ahoge&#8230;<\/p>\n<h1>Najimi&#8217;s ahoge<\/h1>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1041\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/najimi-akikan.jpg?resize=500%2C281\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Najimi from <em>Akikan!<\/em>\u00a0has an interesting ahoge.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of moving about like Chiaki&#8217;s ahoge or springing up like Hisa&#8217;s ahoge, Najimi&#8217;s ahoge wanders all over the place and contorts itself into various poses.<\/p>\n<p>Usually, it&#8217;s spiral-ish, but as you can see in the screenshot above, it changes shape according to Najimi&#8217;s mood. \u00a0When she&#8217;s embarrassed, the ahoge droops down!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and covergirl<\/p>\n<h1>Shana&#8217;s ahoge<\/h1>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1042\" title=\"SHANA S3 PLOCKS\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/shana.jpg?resize=500%2C284\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"284\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Shana is a goddess.<\/p>\n<p>Her ahoge is different from those of the three above in that it starts from the back of her head and goes forward.<\/p>\n<p>Najimi&#8217;s ahoge comes from the middle, and the ahoges of Hisa and Chiaki come from the front.<\/p>\n<p>Shana&#8217;s ahoge is often drawn differently in fanart (as seen in the top picture), and Shana is very awesome.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Little miss otaku<\/p>\n<h1>Konata&#8217;s ahoge<\/h1>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1044\" title=\"oo\" there.<\/p>\n<p>Her ahoge has nothing distinctive and, indeed, looks like the stereotypical ahoge (fitting for the otaku, I suppose?).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1045\" style=\"width: 173px\" ahoge.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>An interesting type of ahoge is best represented by<\/p>\n<h1>The Furukawa hair antennae<\/h1>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1046\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090330153945.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sanae, Akio, and Nagisa (Ushio doesn&#8217;t have them because she&#8217;s a Okazaki!) all possess a special type of ahoge: the hair antennae, as Wikipedia dubs them.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of one strand of hair popping out of Nagisa&#8217;s head, she has two.<\/p>\n<p>Double the clumsiness? \u00a0Perhaps.<\/p>\n<p>But anyway, they really look like insect antennae.<\/p>\n<p><img
