{"id":6413,"date":"2012-08-01T14:37:59","date_gmt":"2012-08-01T21:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/flomu.net\/blog\/?p=6413"},"modified":"2018-12-20T00:05:25","modified_gmt":"2018-12-20T07:05:25","slug":"kkrknkt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/flomu.net\/blog\/2012\/08\/kkrknkt\/","title":{"rendered":"On Kokoro Connect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/flomu.net\/blog\/2012\/08\/kkrknkt\/rori-kokoro-connect-04-acdbef4a-mkv_snapshot_21-48_2012-07-30_02-22-31\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6446\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-6446 aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/flomu.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/rori-Kokoro-Connect-04-ACDBEF4A.mkv_snapshot_21.48_2012.07.30_02.22.31.jpg?resize=590%2C331\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"331\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/flomu.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/rori-Kokoro-Connect-04-ACDBEF4A.mkv_snapshot_21.48_2012.07.30_02.22.31.jpg?resize=590%2C331 590w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/flomu.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/rori-Kokoro-Connect-04-ACDBEF4A.mkv_snapshot_21.48_2012.07.30_02.22.31.jpg?resize=300%2C168 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/flomu.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/rori-Kokoro-Connect-04-ACDBEF4A.mkv_snapshot_21.48_2012.07.30_02.22.31.jpg?w=1280 1280w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/flomu.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/rori-Kokoro-Connect-04-ACDBEF4A.mkv_snapshot_21.48_2012.07.30_02.22.31.jpg?w=1180 1180w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 590px) 100vw, 590px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->There&#8217;s been a lot of talk about why this show is shallow. &nbsp;Kokoro Connect has a whole slew of minor problems&#8230; including, but not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Iori&#8217;s backstory (in the future)<\/li>\n<li>Inaba&#8217;s backstory<\/li>\n<li>Yui&#8217;s backstory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Basically, the whole argument is that Kokoro Connect blew off these heavy issues very easily, be it with a kick to the groin or a mood-killing secret. &nbsp;But really, what did you expect? &nbsp;The problems unearthed by this simple &#8220;body swapping&#8221; device are both interesting and not over-the-top. &nbsp;The solutions Taichi comes to are comedic, and fitting of a high school student who is too nice to others.<\/p>\n<p>The more important question here is where this show is going to go next. &nbsp;Aeroblip has <a href=\"http:\/\/kevo.dasaku.net\/wp-trackback.php?p=4104\">voiced his predictions of a downward spiral<\/a>, and I don&#8217;t blame him. &nbsp;His expectations are grounded both in the shallow backstories we have seen so far and the regular cliches of a harem-type show (i.e. the unresolved\/nobody wins ending). &nbsp;But, he also comments on the predictability of the show&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The lack of depth ultimately makes this show predictable. &nbsp;Because of the lack of dynamics regarding characters and their respective relationships, there are not many directions this show can progress. People are talking about how this show is \u201cdeep\u201d or \u201cprovocative\u201d it is. &nbsp;Call it intuition or cynicism, but I already have an idea of exactly how the series will pan out. Put on your goggles, kids.
