{"id":426,"date":"2011-07-28T10:00:04","date_gmt":"2011-07-28T17:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/misakithursday.wordpress.com\/?p=426"},"modified":"2018-12-20T00:23:06","modified_gmt":"2018-12-20T07:23:06","slug":"trhs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/flomu.net\/blog\/2011\/07\/trhs\/","title":{"rendered":"The Readers Have Spoken!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/flomu.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/07\/question1.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-427\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/flomu.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/07\/question1.png?resize=590%2C80\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"80\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Or so I&#8217;d like to think. \u00a0I hear audience-based material is <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Life_in_a_Day_(2011_film)\">all the rage<\/a> nowadays, so I figured I would make a runaway blockbuster post as well. \u00a0I believe the phrase here is &#8220;by you, for you, and quite unlike what you&#8217;d&#8217;ve ever expected.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In retrospect, this in no way reflects the opinions of my readers. \u00a0I doubt most of the people who I know on formspring read my blog.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/ambivalen.wordpress.com\/\">Valence<\/a>: Hentai<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>What a dirty boy.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t watch much hentai. \u00a0The last one I watched was in digiwombat&#8217;s Onii-chan Theatre, and I don&#8217;t remember the title, what it was about, or anything about it, really.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/kluxorious.blogspot.com\/\">kluxorious<\/a>: how do you treat NSFW posts<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been meaning to say bad things about Chocolate Syrupy Waffles for a long time (not that I haven&#8217;t done it in the past), but I figured most of the team members would eventually learn to grammar and make half-decent sentences. \u00a0And then <a href=\"http:\/\/chocolatesyrupywaffles.com\/?p=39365\">this post<\/a> showed up on Nano.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m pretty lenient with NSFW posts. \u00a0As long as somebody says &#8220;NSFW&#8221; in front of a post, I will not look at it at work. \u00a0I usually don&#8217;t look at aniposts at work anyway, but yeah.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s good that there&#8217;s a &#8220;Not Safe for ANYONE!&#8221; warning in the title, but why would anybody post pictures of real penises? \u00a0Even if I try to take it un-seriously, I find it pretty offensive and not the least bit humorous. \u00a0Though I guess different people have different standards&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/flomu.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/07\/stolenfromzzeroparticle1.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-451\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/flomu.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/07\/stolenfromzzeroparticle1.png?resize=590%2C252\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"252\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/mononoaware.concretebadger.net\/\">concretebadger<\/a>: &#8220;The fans ruined it for me.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Touhou, Hetalia, Hatsune Miku.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe I&#8217;m just a hipster. \u00a0Maybe I just want to feel different. \u00a0Or maybe the Toumikutalia fandoms just suck.<\/p>\n<p>Hetalia is a horrible show. \u00a0I hated the few episodes I managed to sit through back in 2009. \u00a0But then the fangirls, oh god. \u00a0They make me lose faith in mankind (or rather, womankind). \u00a0I believe that a male fan of Hetalia should be\u00a0ostracized from male society and be forced to live with the wild, crazy Hetalia fangirls in their primitive jungle abode.<\/p>\n<p>I played Perfect Cherry Blossom for an entire semester, and I finally beat the damn thing on Easy mode (died many times at Yuyuko on Normal). \u00a0I enjoyed the game, and tried out some of the other ones. \u00a0But I&#8217;ve never been able to like the fandom. \u00a0Eye&#8217;m the strongest? \u00a0What the hell is that? \u00a0Yukkuri are the strangest things. \u00a0I don&#8217;t understand what goes through the deranged minds of Touhou fans.<\/p>\n<p>I went to the Mikunopolis concert at AX. \u00a0I felt really awkward and miserable as a bunch of screaming girls screamed so hard their screaming was louder than Miku. \u00a0I watched the guys in front of me move their glowsticks completely out of time with the music. \u00a0I got tired and sat down and couldn&#8217;t see anything, so I sat on the top of my seat and my butt hurt after the concert.<\/p>\n<p>tl;dr I should have gone to <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.animeinstrumentality.net\/2011\/07\/nirgilis-performance-in-club-nokia-concert-report\/\">the Nirgilis concert<\/a> instead.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.eientei.net\/\">nyoronnyolo<\/a>: H-manga<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I don&#8217;t read that much manga to begin with. \u00a0I&#8217;ve read only a handful of H manga\/doujinshi. \u00a0I can&#8217;t remember the names of any because my memory is bad and I probably read them on \/a\/ or some other board anyway.<\/p>\n<p>No, wait, I do recall\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/anime2.kokidokom.net\/i-dub-thee-the-wtf-ending-hentai\/\">one<\/a>\u00a0that Aizen posted on We love maids\/Anime^2 back when that site was popular and not dead. \u00a0 The only thing I remember about the thing was that the main character had a magical, detachable penis and turned into a huge wrestler guy at the end.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/sekijitsu.com\/\">Bassun<\/a>: Why sports manga is a dying breed<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Damn it, I already said that I don&#8217;t read much manga!<\/p>\n<p>Eyeshield 21 was good. \u00a0Hajime no Ippo is repetitive.<\/p>\n<p>That sums up all the sports manga I&#8217;ve ever read. \u00a0If you asked me this three months ago, I would have went on a tangent and mentioned how good comedy is a dying breed. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/flomu.wordpress.com\/2011\/07\/21\/n\/\">But now<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I still wound up on a tangent discussing a possible tangent. \u00a0Ha ha.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/ogiuemaniax.wordpress.com\/\">sdshamshel<\/a>: Sub-Saharan animals in anime<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I can&#8217;t name any Sub-Saharan animals off the top of my head, so I went to Wikipedia&#8217;s article on Sub-Sahara Africa and searched &#8220;animals.&#8221; \u00a0What came up was &#8220;guinea fowl&#8221; and &#8220;donkey.&#8221; \u00a0Now, I don&#8217;t know any guinea fowl appearances in anime, but I sure can name a lot of asses.<\/p>\n<p>Makoto Itou from School Days is the classic example of a huge ass. \u00a0But hey, he got laid and was more popular than I&#8217;ll ever be. \u00a0Many people say that nice guys finish last, and while I&#8217;m not particularly nice or guy, I&#8217;m nicer and guyer than Makoto. \u00a0Maybe after crossplaying Mikoto next year, I&#8217;ll get rid of that guy half and finish a little closer.<\/p>\n<p>Another, much more obscure ass is that of Butt Attack Punisher Girl Gautaman! \u00a0This anime is a relic from a time when <del>dinosaurs roamed the earth<\/del> pornography and ecchi were one and the same. \u00a0Back in the day, we had good anime like this. \u00a0Top-tier toilet and derriere humor. \u00a0Now you youngsters have something called &#8220;moe&#8221;? \u00a0What&#8217;s wrong with this generation? \u00a0All these gizmos and gadgets, and you still can&#8217;t make or appreciate an anime with <strong>good<\/strong>\u00a0comedy. \u00a0Man.<\/p>\n<p>Also,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/flomu.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/07\/gotaman21.png\">cheeks of steel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/lowermidtable.wordpress.com\/\">Emperor J<\/a>:\u00a0Manyuu. Great Anime or Greatest Anime?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The video below\u00a0is my only experience with the show, courtesy of Tenka Seika. \u00a0I&#8217;m not too good at guessing things in general, so forgive me if I interpret this video the wrong way.<\/p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"590\" height=\"332\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Oy_gmqtq204?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<p>First of all, it&#8217;s pretty obvious that this is a boxing anime in the vein of Hajime no Ippo, yet with more samurai-eqsue elements. \u00a0The jabs at the beginning followed by the swordfight at the end make for a very action-based show.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the female cast broadens the target audience to girls as well. \u00a0Women aren&#8217;t just sex symbols &#8211; they can punch as hard and as fast as Ippo and cut and slash as skillfully as Zoro. \u00a0Hopefully this show will herald many more anime with women in powerful and leading roles rather than as part of a &#8220;harem.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Queen&#8217;s Blade, which aired a few years back, tried to do this and failed. \u00a0It ended up pandering to otaku who simply wanted to see boobs and butts and naked women. \u00a0But it also set the stage for such anime as Seikon no Qwaser, which displayed the important and vital role women play in society.<\/p>\n<p>Queen&#8217;s Blade also paved the way for Manyuu, a show which focuses more on character development than character sexuality. \u00a0As the video shows, censoring is done discreetly but is prevalent throughout. \u00a0It&#8217;s just enough to get otaku interested in the show and just shy of scaring off its female audience.<\/p>\n<p>Truly, Manyuu is an artistic masterpiece that champions a more active female role in anime.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/sekijitsu.com\/\">Elyon<\/a>:\u00a0Yanderes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While Yanderes are good and all, I usually prefer Pockdere. \u00a0The thickness of Yandere allows for a more satisfying crunch compared to Pockdere, but I really don&#8217;t like the dipping sauce for Yandere. \u00a0It&#8217;s messy and I either finish all of it before I finish the sticks or I have so much leftover that I can&#8217;t help but dig it out with my finger.<\/p>\n<p>Yet when it gets hot around the house, I prefer Yandere. \u00a0In hot weather, Pockdere gets stuck together and it&#8217;s a real pain to eat. \u00a0Even after it cools down, the sticks are still glued together. \u00a0Obviously, Yandere doesn&#8217;t do that.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, I&#8217;ve been trying out LuckyStickdere. \u00a0It has the size and thickness of Yandere, but with the &#8220;sauce&#8221; already on the stick like with Pockdere. \u00a0For some reason or another, it&#8217;s also easier to take apart once it&#8217;s melted (which doesn&#8217;t happen very often anyway).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/53rg10.wordpress.com\/\">53RG10<\/a>:\u00a0Anime.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>No.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thatanimeblog.com\/\">chronolynx<\/a>:\u00a0Feminism as it applies to pre-Eva mecha anime<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I&#8217;ve only watched one pre-mecha anime: <strong>Gunbuster<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-437\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/flomu.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/07\/g_p-gunbuster-01x264b8d69d43-mkv_snapshot_20-45_2011-06-05_00-36-401.jpg?resize=590%2C402\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"402\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">This is my hero.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Noriko was cool. \u00a0Feminism? \u00a0Not so much. \u00a0I feel like this was just a standard epic mecha series with a female main character. \u00a0Blah blah blah, Noriko was strong and woman and strong and female but hell, I don&#8217;t really care. \u00a0It was a good anime with an engrossing plot and interesting characters and really terrible spacesuit uniform things. \u00a0I prefer Yoko&#8217;s space suit outfit uniform thing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">I&#8217;m not too knowledgeable about feminism nor do I want to talk about it that much because girls suck.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">I like girls, though.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Ambivalence&#8230; or is it ambiguity?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.formspring.me\/BradleyCMeek\">Bradley<\/a>: Complete this sentence: &#8220;I was wrong about&#8230;&#8221; Elaborate.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Who&#8217;s Bradley? \u00a0Why am I following him? \u00a0Bah!<\/p>\n<p>I was wrong about <strong>nothing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If I have the time to go back and think about what I&#8217;m wrong about, I&#8217;d rather be playing Team Fortress 2. \u00a0Heck, that just gave me a great idea. \u00a0I&#8217;m going to go play TF2 and write the rest of this post later. \u00a0It&#8217;s taken two hours so far, and I really want to go get owned by the newly-nerfed <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.teamfortress.com\/wiki\/Cow_Mangler_5000\">Cow Mangler 5000<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/ambivalen.wordpress.com\/\">@fkeroge<\/a>: *Looks at an anime poster posted in room* Anime posters.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I have quite a few anime posters, but most of them are small, Megami-sized ones (two sheets of 8.5&#215;11 paper).<\/p>\n<p>I got a free Hatsune Miku Mikunopolis poster at AX by giving Toyota my email address. \u00a0They sent me one email. \u00a0I&#8217;m sure that the cost of printing that one Mikunopolis outweighs whatever they could have conned me into buying.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, I drive a 2000 or 2001 Audi. \u00a0It&#8217;s 99% functional and has leather seats. \u00a0However, the 1% non-functional part makes it a real pain in the ass and I&#8217;m afraid to take it on the highway because weird &#8220;check engine&#8221; and &#8220;check car&#8221; and &#8220;check anime blog&#8221; lights come on randomly. \u00a0The guy at the shop said it was connected to the door-activated car light thing for some reason and now I don&#8217;t know if my car has a serious problem or not.<\/p>\n<p>I should have gotten the crappy old Volkswagen next to it. \u00a0Hell, I should have rented a car or something instead of buying an old beat-up one from a scamming Asian dude who gets really mad and yells a lot.<\/p>\n<p>I hate Asians.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m Asian.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/Asraful\">Asraful<\/a>:\u00a0Anime as a medium, rather than a genre, and the tendency (or apparent tendency) of anime watchers and the blogosphere to forget this (and expect every show to be awesome, etc.)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I don&#8217;t think many people (well, in the blogosphere at least) feel as though anime is a genre. \u00a0Sure, there are stereotypes that some genres of anime push to the limit &#8211; magical girls and RomCom harems, for example &#8211; but I don&#8217;t think anybody expects all anime to be like a magical girl show.<\/p>\n<p>That said, I also believe that people need to realize this on their own. \u00a0And most <a href=\"http:\/\/trzr23.blogspot.com\/2011\/07\/virgin-anime-experience-trazor-has.html\">are<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>also, am I kawaii?
