{"id":3612,"date":"2009-10-17T16:06:35","date_gmt":"2009-10-17T23:06:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mikoto.wordpress.com\/?p=3612"},"modified":"2009-10-17T16:06:35","modified_gmt":"2009-10-17T23:06:35","slug":"the-greatest-anime-of-all-time-03","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/flomu.net\/blog\/2009\/10\/the-greatest-anime-of-all-time-03\/","title":{"rendered":"The Greatest Anime of All Time 03"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a style=\"text-decoration:none;\" href=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/10\/snapshot20091017000429.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3614\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/10\/snapshot20091017000429.jpg?resize=500%2C281\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So when&#8217;s the last time you saw a slice-of-life show so good?<\/p>\n<p>Oh, that&#8217;s right. \u00a0Never.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a style=\"text-decoration:none;\" href=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/10\/snapshot20091016235533.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3615\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/10\/snapshot20091016235533.jpg?resize=500%2C281\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Contrary to popular belief, I actually liked To Aru Majutsu no Index for something other than Greatest Anime Goddess to Ever Grace My Computer Screen, and that was the different powers that everybody had. \u00a0Aureolus could turn thoughts into reality,\u00a0Magnus (fun fact: Stiyl Magnus is actually 14 years old) could control fire, and Touma was good with his right hand. \u00a0In any case, the idea of &#8220;wow, I wonder what they could do next?&#8221; just excited me, especially after seeing Accelerator&#8217;s godmode ability (seriously, changing vectors? &#8230;wow). \u00a0And what&#8217;s more&#8230; it was all in a slice-of-life context, meaning that each and every power was almost commonplace, and could show up at any time, giving a sci-fi feel that hyped up my inner sci-fi fanboy.<\/p>\n<p>This episode continued that trend. \u00a0Invisibility is one nasty power, and it was interesting to see it in action without disrupting the slice-of-life comedy feel (using that wimpy thing on Mikoto? \u00a0Hah!) that the previous two episodes have set up. \u00a0Nowhere along the line did I feel that the action intruded upon the comedy, or vice versa. \u00a0Both aspects were in perfect equilibrium throughout the entire episode, something that Index completely failed at (that show became &#8220;action arc + random non-funny Index headbiting with a random, albeit awesome, filler half-episode&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>tl;dr This episode was awesome, and I&#8217;m going to go take some Tylenol now, because I am still very sick.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So when&#8217;s the last time you saw a slice-of-life show so good?
