and I got bored of it, so yeah.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m still sick, but I&#8217;m considerably less sick now that I&#8217;ve slept a lot and drank a lot of water and went to the hospital to get some medication and stuff.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m wayyyy behind on anime (sickness correlates to &#8220;does not want to look at computer screen&#8221;), so there will be either a lot less posts this week or posts about last week&#8217;s anime episodes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_1780\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1780\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1780\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090412173435.jpg?resize=480%2C270\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1780\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">fgsfds<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Basically, <em>Haruhi-chan<\/em> is the culprit. \u00a0After watching <em>Haruhi-chan<\/em>, I&#8217;ve begun to set up other short anime against it.<\/p>\n<p>Although I hated <em>Hetalia<\/em> from the start, seeing <em>Haruhi-chan<\/em> in action made me hate that anime even more, so I dropped it.<br \/>\n<em>Charady&#8217;s Daily Joke<\/em> was shitty compared to <em>Haruhi-chan<\/em>, so I dropped it.<br \/>\n<em>Marie &amp; Gali<\/em> was just downright bad. \u00a0I dropped it.<\/p>\n<p>And thus <em>Higepiyo<\/em> is in the ring against <em>Haruhi-chan<\/em>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1781\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1781\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1781\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090420193026.jpg?resize=450%2C256\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"256\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1781\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">&quot;This show sucks, Piroshi!&quot;<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Episodes 1 and 2 were good. \u00a0They were <strong>really<\/strong> good.<\/p>\n<p>And then Higepiyo talked. \u00a0Oh Jesus.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1782\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090406115103.jpg?resize=500%2C281\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p>All of the humor in the first episode came from the fact that Higepiyo was a beer-drinking beard-toting chick five times bigger than any other chick who did human things with no expression on his face.<\/p>\n<p>When Higepiyo talked, I knew that my <a href=\"http:\/\/mikoto.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/07\/spring-2009-anime-first-impressions-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">prediction<\/a> had come true&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Higepiyo looks like one great idea for a short series, but to have it maintain the same level of \u201clol here is a chick with a beard reading the newspaper\u201d humor for 43 episodes will be tough, if not impossible.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>[NOTE: It&#8217;s actually 39 episodes&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>I was wondering how the humor would hold up. \u00a0I knew that it was impossible for Cinema Citrus to keep up the contrast between Higepiyo&#8217;s constant near-emotionless expression and the exaggerated expressions of the other characters (Piroshi and his parents, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>Episode 2 presented us with some pretty good humor. \u00a0Although the humor went off from what I&#8217;d expected in the first episode, it was nevertheless hilarious (especially that last guy in the three-person gang).<\/p>\n<p>And now episode 3&#8230;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1784\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1784\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1784\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/zetsubou-shita.jpg?resize=450%2C253\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"253\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1784\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">...has left me in despair!<\/p><\/div>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1785\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090420193030.jpg?resize=500%2C284\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"284\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Did I <em>ask<\/em> to see Higepiyo blushing? \u00a0<strong>NO<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Do I <em>want<\/em> to see Higepiyo blushing? \u00a0<strong>HELL NO<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s disgusting. \u00a0We get to know Higepiyo as the chick whose facial expression never changes and remains in stark contrast to the exaggerated reactions of the people around him&#8230; and now what is this shit?!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1786\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1786\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1786\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090420193124.jpg?resize=450%2C256\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"256\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1786\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">No, let&#39;s not.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Bad joke is bad.<\/p>\n<p>This just felt annoying and cliched (I know that I&#8217;ve yet to see another version of this joke, but I still got this feeling).<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1787\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090420193200.jpg?resize=500%2C284\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"284\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s random done right (<em>Zetsubou Sensei<\/em>, for example), and then there&#8217;s random done wrong. \u00a0This is the latter.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t care how random this may be, but seeing Higepiyo in a ninja outfit ain&#8217;t going to get any laughs out of me.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s not funny. \u00a0It&#8217;s just random. \u00a0Random is not always funny.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1788\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1788\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1788\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090317011121.jpg?resize=480%2C270\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1788\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">You&#39;re not the only one!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Granted, there were some good scenes (Higepiyo looking at others&#8217;
