02: Failure art and some strange clothes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1290\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/44c07d17.jpg?resize=500%2C700\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"700\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">FAIL-O-METER<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nThe fail here is quite large&#8230; larger than a regular car, but smaller than a Hummer. \u00a0Oh, and let me make this clear beforehand: <strong>I love <\/strong><em><strong>K-ON!<\/strong><\/em>, but there&#8217;s just some things that are just begging to be bashed.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of bashing episode 2 for its horrific display of fetus hands, joined fingers, lack of noses, spear-shaped legs, and general horrible art quality (why, KyoAni, <em>why<\/em>?), I&#8217;ve decided to comment on the fashion in <em>K-ON!<\/em>\u00a0&#8230;<strong>and<\/strong> bash the crapart.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I just can&#8217;t pass up an opportunity to bash some bad art, so this first page will be all about the crapart in this episode.<br \/>\nIf you don&#8217;t want to hear about K-ON! art, scroll down and go to page 2 <span style=\"text-decoration:line-through;\">and live your naive, sheltered &#8220;KyoAni is eternally awesome&#8221; lives in ignorance<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>First, let&#8217;s take a look at the animation of one particular scene&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1292\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/animation-1.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Besides Mio&#8217;s weird eyes and the enormous dent in her skull&#8230; or tumor in her cheek, depending on how you view it (it&#8217;s like the young woman\/old woman optical illusion) and the fact that Mio&#8217;s garments have rode up mysteriously and the fact that Mio&#8217;s hair is as thin as paper, this is quite your normal scene.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1291\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/animation-2.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Okay, so Ritsu&#8217;s neck grew a little longer. \u00a0Just some standard frame-by-frame animation of a person moving her head.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1294\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/animation-3.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Okay, it got a little longer. \u00a0Now she&#8217;s preparing to look forward a little&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1293\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/animation-4.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>HOLY SHI-<\/p>\n<p>What happened with her neck!? \u00a0Suddenly, a random chin line appears!<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s up with her eyes? \u00a0One frame passes by, and BAM, they&#8217;ve moved halfway across her face!<br \/>\nWell, not only that&#8230; her entire face flies a few inches in a single frame.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, these aren&#8217;t as noticeable when it&#8217;s animated, but the chin line stands out like a sore thumb.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Well, at least now Ritsu matches Mio in terms of artistic fail in this scene&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And moving on to the general art fail&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1295\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/k-on-02-fail-1.png?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Something is horribly wrong with Mio&#8217;s hair\/head\/face here. \u00a0Either her face needs to move forward, or her hair needs to move back. \u00a0They&#8217;re not matching up.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1296\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/k-on-02-fail-2.png?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Indeed. \u00a0This is the infamous fetus hand that<em> K-ON!<\/em> is promoting.<\/p>\n<p>If you take a closer look&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Yui&#8217;s pinky is thicker than all of her other fingers.<\/li>\n<li>Yui&#8217;s index finger is pointing to her right. \u00a0This is not physically possible.<\/li>\n<li>Her &#8220;lifeline&#8221; is a dash, showing that she won&#8217;t have a long life. \u00a0What a misfortunate girl she is&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1297\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/k-on-02-fail-3.png?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>SPEARLEG! \u00a0It&#8217;s not your average leg. \u00a0It&#8217;s incredibly thin, and the leg is attached to the foot. \u00a0The foot doesn&#8217;t bulge out like a normal foot should (obviously, some parts of a foot are wider than the ankle&#8230;), and the entire limb tapers down to nothing.<\/p>\n<p>Yui&#8217;s leg\/feet are the same. \u00a0In fact, her legs are so thin that I thought they were the limbs of the chair when this scene flew by.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1298\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/k-on-02-fail-4.png?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are quite a few scenes in this episode in which the characters lose their noses, and not on purpose (as a part of a style), either.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1299\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/k-on-02-fail-5.png?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Somebody&#8217;s eyes are misaligned!<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1300\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/k-on-02-fail-6.png?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll list off the fail here:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No nose.<\/li>\n<li>Hair looks like shit.<\/li>\n<li>Yui doesn&#8217;t fit into her uberCG (or some insane art) room.<\/li>\n<li>Stubs for feet<\/li>\n<li>Yui is standing facing toward the camera, but her hips are faced to the left. \u00a0Her feet should thus be pointing to the left, too. \u00a0Instead, her right foot is pointed to the right&#8230; a very painful, if not impossible, position to be in.<\/li>\n<li>The ceiling is incredibly low.<\/li>\n<li>There is a picture of a soccer ball on the right wall.<\/li>\n<li>It is not 10:50!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1301\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/k-on-02-fail-7.png?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Humans do not have muzzles!<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1302\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/k-on-02-fail-8.png?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yui does not look right at all.<\/p>\n<p>Mio is daydreaming.<\/p>\n<p>Ritsu&#8217;s hands disappear into the folds of her ponchosweater.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1303\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/k-on-02-fail-9.png?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Akikan!<\/em> quality. \u00a0Sorry for the color clash with the text.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1304\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/k-on-02-fail-10.png?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Either the mouth is too high up, or the nose is too far to the right. \u00a0Ugh.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1305\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/k-on-02-fail-11.png?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The contrast&#8230;. !!!!1<\/p>\n<p><strong>MOAR ON PAGE TWO<\/strong><br \/>\n<!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h1><strong>Uber Casualwear<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1307\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090410002521.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pink-on-pink pajamas vs. Sweater + shorts + YELLOW SKIN<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, little miss yellow skin wins.<br \/>\nLittle sister with &#8220;this is too big for me&#8221; sweater and tight-fitting clothes = win<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h1>Out on the Town<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1310\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot200904100026321.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><br \/>\n&#8220;Hey main character, come over here so we can get some screentime!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ritsu is wearing what all Japanese schoolgirls wear: big white ponchohoodies with green laces and a random blue zipper thing, with a long-sleeved orange shirt inside! \u00a0And don&#8217;t forget the red\/black-striped bracelet! \u00a0I&#8217;m not very fashion-smart, but I think a garment like this really shows off your slim body by hiding it under three cubic yards of fabric!<\/p>\n<p>Gumi-chan is wearing something more&#8230; realistic. \u00a0You could actually see people wearing this in America at some slightly formal occasions. \u00a0Probably Japan too.<\/p>\n<p>And then there&#8217;s Mio. \u00a0Jeebus. \u00a0What is that?<br \/>\nShe&#8217;s got her purple <span style=\"text-decoration:line-through;\">fakeboner<\/span> pants and her blue\/purple jacket with a plain white shirt inside.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ll be frank: the purple pants are what prompted this section of this post. \u00a0They were so damn ugly (or at least stood out so much) that I knew I had to post them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1308\" src=\"http:\/\/mikoto.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/snapshot20090410002637.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><br \/>\n&#8220;Hey losers!
