FAIL-O-METER<\/span><\/strong> Instead of bashing episode 2 for its horrific display of fetus hands, joined fingers, lack of noses, spear-shaped legs, and general horrible art quality (why, KyoAni, why<\/em>?), I’ve decided to comment on the fashion in K-ON!<\/em>\u00a0…and<\/strong> bash the crapart.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I just can’t pass up an opportunity to bash some bad art, so this first page will be all about the crapart in this episode. First, let’s take a look at the animation of one particular scene…<\/p>\n Besides Mio’s weird eyes and the enormous dent in her skull… or tumor in her cheek, depending on how you view it (it’s like the young woman\/old woman optical illusion) and the fact that Mio’s garments have rode up mysteriously and the fact that Mio’s hair is as thin as paper, this is quite your normal scene.<\/p>\n Okay, so Ritsu’s neck grew a little longer. \u00a0Just some standard frame-by-frame animation of a person moving her head.<\/p>\n Okay, it got a little longer. \u00a0Now she’s preparing to look forward a little…<\/p>\n HOLY SHI-<\/p>\n What happened with her neck!? \u00a0Suddenly, a random chin line appears!<\/p>\n What’s up with her eyes? \u00a0One frame passes by, and BAM, they’ve moved halfway across her face! Of course, these aren’t as noticeable when it’s animated, but the chin line stands out like a sore thumb.\u00a0<\/p>\n Well, at least now Ritsu matches Mio in terms of artistic fail in this scene…<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n And moving on to the general art fail…<\/p>\n Something is horribly wrong with Mio’s hair\/head\/face here. \u00a0Either her face needs to move forward, or her hair needs to move back. \u00a0They’re not matching up.<\/p>\n Indeed. \u00a0This is the infamous fetus hand that K-ON!<\/em> is promoting.<\/p>\n If you take a closer look…<\/p>\n SPEARLEG! \u00a0It’s not your average leg. \u00a0It’s incredibly thin, and the leg is attached to the foot. \u00a0The foot doesn’t bulge out like a normal foot should (obviously, some parts of a foot are wider than the ankle…), and the entire limb tapers down to nothing.<\/p>\n Yui’s leg\/feet are the same. \u00a0In fact, her legs are so thin that I thought they were the limbs of the chair when this scene flew by.<\/p>\n There are quite a few scenes in this episode in which the characters lose their noses, and not on purpose (as a part of a style), either.<\/p>\n Somebody’s eyes are misaligned!<\/p>\n I’ll list off the fail here:<\/p>\n Humans do not have muzzles!<\/p>\n Yui does not look right at all.<\/p>\n Mio is daydreaming.<\/p>\n Ritsu’s hands disappear into the folds of her ponchosweater.<\/p>\n Akikan!<\/em> quality. \u00a0Sorry for the color clash with the text.<\/p>\n Either the mouth is too high up, or the nose is too far to the right. \u00a0Ugh.<\/p>\n The contrast…. !!!!1<\/p>\n MOAR ON PAGE TWO<\/strong> Pink-on-pink pajamas vs. Sweater + shorts + YELLOW SKIN<\/p>\n Obviously, little miss yellow skin wins. \u00a0<\/p>\n Ritsu is wearing what all Japanese schoolgirls wear: big white ponchohoodies with green laces and a random blue zipper thing, with a long-sleeved orange shirt inside! \u00a0And don’t forget the red\/black-striped bracelet! \u00a0I’m not very fashion-smart, but I think a garment like this really shows off your slim body by hiding it under three cubic yards of fabric!<\/p>\n Gumi-chan is wearing something more… realistic. \u00a0You could actually see people wearing this in America at some slightly formal occasions. \u00a0Probably Japan too.<\/p>\n And then there’s Mio. \u00a0Jeebus. \u00a0What is that? Yui has a cute outfit. \u00a0It’s almost as awesome as Yumemi’s outfit at the theme park: Pink shorts are always a plus. \u00a0Shorts like Mikoto’s shorts (not exactly undergarments!) are even better.<\/p>\n And then we get normal clothes for Mio, Ritsu (sorta), and Tsumugi… and Yui dons a random denim dress-like object.<\/p>\n It looks like one of these barrels… fin.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" FAIL-O-METER The fail here is quite large… larger than a regular car, but smaller than a Hummer. \u00a0Oh, and let me make this clear beforehand: I love K-ON!, but there’s just some things that are just begging to be bashed.
